Аннотация. В данной статье впервые предлагается попытка этимологизировать слово ka:vut на основе хаттского и адыгских языков. На основе большого фактологического материала разных языковых семей, с привлечением мифов народов мира впервые в лингвистической науке устанавливается гипотетическая связь адыгского названия зерна в форме «кхъа» с хаттским именем богини зерна Кait.

Annotation: In this article called "On the origin and etymologization of the word 'ka:vut' on the basis of the Hattic and Circassian languages" an attempt to etymologize the word 'ka:vut' on the basis of the Hattic and Circassian languages is first proposed. On the basis of large factological material of different language families and use of world mythology, for the first time in linguistic science a hypothetical connection between 'кhа', the Circassian word for grain, and 'Kait', the Hattic name of a grain goddess, is made.
