21st century innovations and technological developments, which have made
their impact felt from the very beginning, have shown influence in the field of
education as well as in every other field. Thus, instructors and learners felt the
need to equip themselves with the requirements of the new era. In line with
the studies carried out to ensure the adaptation of the education and training
process to innovations in industrial age 5.0., existing education policies are
updated in order to raise individuals who can keep up with the conditions of
the new world and to provide job opportunities for learners in the globalizing
world, which entails the prerequisite of harboring newly emerging world skills
such as financial literacy, leadership, and creativity. Various scientific studies
(Çiftçi et al., 2021; Dündar & Polat, 2021; Gyurova & Zeleeva, 2017; Hamarat,
2019; Zain et al., 2016) have been conducted to determine the effectiveness and
adequacy of the innovative steps taken and policies pursued in the process of
vesting individuals with 21st century skills and competencies, and the findings
obtained from these studies have been guiding practitioners. In addition to
educational policies, the programs further decorate individuals with a 21st
century perspective, embracing skills, competencies, and character qualities
such as finance and culture-bound literacies, creativity, and leadership skills.
These programs are revised to expand their skills, and the effectiveness of the
new programs developed are examined through various scientific studies (Cho
et al., 2015; Göçen et al., 2020; Hung et al., 2013; Schroeder and Curcio, 2022).
