Abstract

The concentration of copper in high purity aluminum samples was determined by using atomic absorption spectrometry after complexation with hexamethylene dithiocarbamate followed by separation and preconcentration on an activated carbon column. The relative standard deviation(R.S.D.) is below 10 %. Recoveries of copper from the activated carbon column are greater than 95 %.
