‘EMI Classroom Communication: A Corpus-Based Approach’ edited by Dimova et al. (2024) is an empirical EMI-research-oriented book that takes a critical approach to the adoption of multiple communicative and linguistic strategies employed by EMI lecturers in five different higher education contexts (i.e. Croatia, Denmark, Italy, the Netherlands, and Spain). The central claim of the book is to move beyond the localized implementation of EMI practices to a global scale where potential comparisons can be drawn between the communicative and linguistic strategies used in different higher education contexts. The book therefore addresses researchers interested in EMI research in different higher education contexts as well as teachers and teacher trainers who design professional development programs for EMI lecturers from various disciplinary backgrounds. By examining the practices in EMI, the book provides a comprehensive, evidencebased understanding of how EMI can be effectively tailored to different educational contexts.
