Özet

The tourism industry is a major economic driver and also poses significant environmental challenges due to the large number of tourists leading to pollution, resource depletion, and habitat loss. In order to mitigate these impacts, tourism organizations are increasingly adopting green management practices all over the world. Green human resource management plays an important role in green business management by incorporating environmentally friendly practices throughout the employee lifecycle, including selection, recruitment, orientation, training and development, performance management, and compensation. The main purpose of this study is to examine green human resource management and its functions in the context of sustainable tourism. This study is a conceptual evaluation that is based on secondary data. In the study, green human resource management and sustainable tourism phenomena are examined. Green human resource management’s basic functions are evaluated in the context of sustainable tourism. The study highlights the importance of green human resource management in fostering a culture of sustainability, enhancing employee commitment to environmental goals, and promoting practices that reduce the ecological footprint of tourism operations. This study emphasizes the need for continuous improvement in green human resource management strategies to align with evolving environmental objectives. It is thought that this study can contribute to the tourism literature and to researchers who will study the related variables.
