Historic Structures & Technology for Structural Health Monitoring
Welcome to the HISTECH-SHM Research Group.
HISTECH-SHM is a multidisciplinary research group dedicated to structural health monitoring (SHM), numerical modeling, model updating, and restoration engineering of both historic and modern structures. While focusing on cultural heritage structures such as domes, arches, and monumental buildings, the group also aims to develop innovative solutions to enhance the safety and sustainability of contemporary engineering structures.
Our research activities integrate geodesic space frame systems, historic and modern structural systems, experimental testing setups, and advanced numerical analysis techniques. By combining the engineering knowledge of the past with modern technologies, HISTECH-SHM seeks to provide scientific and practical solutions to the structural engineering challenges of the future.
