Humans need for energy around the world is increasing day by day. A severe problem will arise when fossil fuels no longer meet this need and become depleted over time. For this reason, human beings have turned to alternative energy sources to reduce the damage caused by fossil fuels to the environment and for a sustainable energy source. It has been beneficial in contributing greatly to the energy independence of countries. The aim of this study is to determine the biogas potential of the wastes obtained from the most produced agricultural products in Sivas province and to determine the energy equivalents of this potential. The data used in the study was taken from the Turkish Statistical Institute's data on agricultural production amounts in Sivas province. In the study, the 11 agricultural products most produced in Sivas province were discussed. Theoretical biomass potential (TBP) and available energy potential (EEP) equations were used in the study. In 2022, a total of 2340967 tons of products were produced in Sivas province and it was calculated that there were 1325142.19 tons of waste as a result of this production. These wastes have a total energy potential of 727049.26 GJ/year. Among the agricultural products considered, the most agricultural waste is wheat, and the least agricultural waste is lentils. Although the amount of waste was highest in wheat, it was observed that the biomass potential was highest in corn and sugar beet. As a result of the study, it was concluded that the energy potential to be produced will meet 13.3% of the annual need of Sivas province. It will also contribute financially to the province of Sivas and the country's economy.
