Natural convection phenomena is a technique which has a widely usage area in cooling system. Fins are employed to remove the heat from hot surface to the space via natural convectional heat transfer. The fins are used to enhance heat transfer thanks to extended surface and generally used in heat exchangers, motorcycle engines, radiators, microchip coolers etc. Effect of different geometries and materials properties of the fins are numerically investigated on heat transfer performance in this study. The considered geometries and materials are respectively rectangular, triangle, cylinder and conical; and aluminum,
copper and steel. The investigated cases are in turbulent natural convection and in the range of Ra number from 1.08x1010 to 7.58x1010. Fluent software is used to evaluate heat transfer characteristic of the cases by using Boussinesq approximation. The Boussinesq approximation is based on fluid movement depend on temperature change, and so density change. The results are presented with convective heat transfer coefficient. The highest heat transfer coefficient is observed as 10.369 W/m2K for copper triangular fin.
