Malaria is the leading cause of morbidity and mortality among parasitic infections. About 3.3 billion people - half of the world's population - are at risk of malaria. Every year, this leads to about 250 million malaria cases and nearly one million deaths. The number of malaria cases in recent years has been a significant decrease in Turkey. In this retrospective study, we investigated malaria using the data provided by The Health Administration of Corum between 2006 and 2011. Totally 7 positive patients (5 men and 2 women) were reported during the 5-year period. Three of the seven cases were workers to work Corum from other cities. All of the cases were caused by Plasmodium vivax.
