Özet

Peritonitis is the most frequent complication in patients undergoing continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD). CAPD-related peritonitis caused by Brucella species has been reported in only three patients, in whom the Thenckhoff catheter was removed. We report two cases of CAPD-related peritonitis caused by Brucella, melitensis. In both patients, peritonitis accompanied systemic brucellosis and was successfully treated with antibiotics (rifampicin plus doxycycline for 6 weeks) without removal of the Tenckhoff catheter.
