Özet

Cutaneus polyarteritis nodosa is a variant of polyarteritis nodosa (PAN), without visceral involvement and with a more favourable prognosis. The presence of nodules, located in the lower legs are the most frequent cutaneous lesion. The etiology is unknown. Although cutaneous PAN carries a good prognosis, it can show development of systemic disease and relapses after follow-up. In this report, the case of a man with erythematous, painful nodules on his lower leg, who was misdiagnosed as cellulitis is described. The patient had been treated with many systemic antibiotics before coming to us. Although he was treated with systemic corticosteroids, after the third month of treatment, lesions appeared again. In this report, we aimed to emphasize the differential diagnosis of cutaneous PAN because of the recurrence of the disease.
