Özet

Study was aimed to determine health-related lifestyle behaviours of adults living in Kayseri urban. The universe of this descriptive, cross-sectional study consists of approximately 600.000 people. While 1320 individuals were planning to be contacted, 1293 were reached. People were interviewed face-to-face by researchers using the questionnaire consisting descriptive characteristics and Health-promoting Lifestyle Profile (HPLP) II at March-April 2016. Kolmogorov Smirnov test for testing normal distribution, Kruskall Wallis, Mann Whitney U tests for comparing data were used. Mean score of HPLP-II score was 130.9 +/- 8.7, highest subscore was from spiritual growth, lowest from physical activity. HPLP score did not differ according to sex. People having older age, lower education level, poor economic status, obesity, poor self-perceived health, chronic disease had lower HPLP II score. Physical activity score was lower at people who were women, obese, defining their health as poor and having a chronic disease. Men had lower scores of health responsibility. People having a poor economic situation, having more number of children or widowed had lower scores of spiritual development and stress management. Establishment of activities that will encourage people to walk and cycle will contribute to increase physical activity in urban life.
