The concentrations of molybdenum in water and geological samples collected from the Sorgun-Yozgat (TURKIYE) region were determined by spectrophotometry after separation and preconcentration on Amberlite XAD-8 resin. The molybdenum content of the samples was also determined by Grafite Furnace Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (GFAAS) and a well-known extraction method. The concentration of molybdenum in Sorgun spring water was found to be 84 mu g/l. The content of molybdenum of the geological samples collected from Yeni Celtek Mine Quarry were found to be in the range of 12-36 mu g/g (ppm).
