Özet

A stabiliser, p-butoxy cyclohexyl phosphinic acid was introduced into two industrial copolyesters, based on bisphenol A and phenolphthalein respectively, and the effects on their mechanical and thermal properties were investigated. The measurements were made immediately following the introduction of the stabiliser. The mechanical properties were sensitive to the amount of stabiliser. Ductility and breaking strength increased with small amounts of stabiliser, while the modulus of elasticity decreased. As the amount of stabiliser increased, the process was reversed. Similarly, thermal stability also increased with small concentrations and decreased at higher concentrations. Heat treatment increased the brittleness and reduced the breaking strength.
