Özet
In the complex web of life, coping with challenges is essential. Meaning-based coping reduces dysfunctional reactions to stress and increases psychological resilience to adverse experiences. Therefore, comprehending this mechanism is essential. The primary focus of this study was to examine the mediation of meaning-based coping between forgiveness and resilience, using data from 363 participants in two waves at 3-month intervals. Participants were 233 women (64.2%) and 130 men (35.8%) with a mean age of 22.77 years (SD = 5.19). Cross-lagged panel autoregressive analysis was used in a half-longitudinal design to circumvent the drawback of cross-sectional analysis in identifying the mediating influence. The association between forgiveness and resilience is mediated by meaning-based coping, according to an analysis of data gathered in January 2025 and April 2025 using AMOS. According to this study, forgiveness boosts meaning-based coping, which subsequently boosts resilience. Those with greater forgiveness inclinations may have higher psychological resilience because they use more meaning-based coping methods. More forgiving people may employ more coping mechanisms.
