Abstract

In this work, the design of infinite impulse response (IIR) filters is realized for the aim of noise cancellation.  Due to their ability of fast convergence to the optimal solutions in the multi-modal error surfaces, global optimization algorithms are used in the designs. The performance of artificial bee colony (ABC) algorithm in the design of digital IIR filter is analysed  and compared to that of differential evolution (DE) and particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithms.
