In this study, agronomic, physiological and root morphological responses of 6 different lettuces (Lactuca sativa L.) genotypes to salt at 2 different NaCl concentrations (5 EC and 10 EC) were tested by screening in a hydroponic deep water culture (DWC) medium. The study was carried out in controlled climate rooms and laboratory conditions of Erciyes University Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Soil Science and Plant Nutrition in 2021, according to a randomized plot design with 3 replications. In the study, various parameters such as visual scale, wet-dry weight, leaf area-number, root length-volume-diameter, photosynthesis, SPAD, leaf and root ion leakage, Cl and nitrate ion accumulation int he leaves were determined in plants. According to the findings, it was determined that plant growth and biomass development decreased depending on the increase in applied salt concentration. However, it was determined that although all plants at 10 EC were negatively affected by salt compared to control plants, some genotypes at 5 EC salt concentration showed a positive increase in growth and development. Due to the statistically high salt x genotype interaction (p<0.001), a large genotypic difference was detected between lettuce genotypes in terms of salt tolerance at both salt concentrations.
