Amaç : Bu çalışmada genel anestezi öncesi ve sonrasında hasta yakınlarının operasyona bakış açısının değişimini saptamak amaçlanmıştır. Gereçler ve Yöntemler : 28.01.2022- 06.10.2022 tarihinde Özel Jimer Hastanesinin pedodonti kliniğine başvuran 2455 hastanın kayıtları incelendi. 2-13 yaş arası olan hastaların 122’sine genel anestezi altında dental tedavisi yapıldığı tespit edildi ve çalışmaya dahil edildi.Velilere Google formlar üzerinden anket çalışması gönderildi.Elde edilen verilere tanımlayıcı istatistik uygulandı.
Bulgular: Çalışamaya katılan 122 hasta velisinden 75’i daha önce genel anestezi ile ilgili bilgi sahibi değildi. 82 hasta velisi genel anestezi operasyonundan endişe duydu.42 kişi endişe giderici olarak hekim deneyimini,70 kişi ise hem hastane imkanları hem de hekim deneyimini seçti.110 kişi operasyona uzman hekimin girmesini tercih etti.Operasyon sonrası en sık boğaz ağrısı görünürken bunu bulantı ve ateş izledi.82 kişinin günlük hayata dönüşü kolay olmuştur.88 çocukta operasyon sonrası kontrol seansı endişesiz geçmiştir.Velilerin 95’i genel anestezi altında diş tedavisini nonkoopere hasta yakınlarına önerdi.
Sonuç: Çalışmamızın sonucunda velilerin çoğunluğunun daha önce genel anestezi ile ilgili bilgi sahibi olmadığı,çoğunluğunun endişe duyduğu tespit edilmiştir.Operasyon sonrası kaygıların azalmıştır ve velilerin çoğunluğu genel anesteziyi önermiştir.

Aim: In this study, it was aimed to determine the change in the perspective of the patients' relatives about the operation before and after general anesthesia. Materials and Methods: The records of 2455 patients who applied to the pedodontics clinic of Private Jimer Hospital on 28.01.2022- 06.10.2022 were examined. It was determined that 122 of the patients aged 2-13 had dental treatment under general anesthesia and were included in the study. A questionnaire was sent to the parents via Google forms. Descriptive statistics were applied to the obtained data.
Results: Of the 122 patient parents who participated in the study, 75 had no previous knowledge of general anesthesia. 82 parents of patients were worried about the general anesthesia operation. 42 people chose physician experience as an anxiety reliever, and 70 people chose both hospital facilities and physician experience. 110 people preferred a specialist doctor to have the operation. Sore throat was the most common after the operation, followed by nausea and fever. It was easy for .82 people to return to daily life. In 88 children, the postoperative follow-up session was worry-free. 95 of the parents recommended dental treatment under general anesthesia to the relatives of non-cooperative patients.
Conclusion: As a result of our study, it was determined that the majority of the parents did not know about general anesthesia before, and most of them were worried. Post-operative concerns decreased and the majority of the parents recommended general anesthesia.
