Designing of Arm Profile Automation System with CODESYS based Motion Control and Implementation

Abstract:

Programmable Logic Controllers are one of the basic electronic circuits of automation systems that control inputs and outputs according to the program inside it. Motion controllers are electronic controllers such as PLCs but with higher RAM capacity and lower cycle times and they developed for multi-servo applications.

Although CODESYS is a novel technology designed for the aim of programming PLCs and motion controllers, it has been used by many PLC and motion controller manufacturers such as ABB, Scneider, Wago, Eaton, Mitsubishi, Festo, Beckoff and Yaskawa. CODESYS programming platform provides a standart brand-independent programming interface to users for PLCs and motion controllers. Programs developed for any kind of PLC brand are compatible with other PLCs which are supported by CODESYS. Features mentioned above have made CODESYS a common interface supported by many different brands.

The stud bolts connect the arm and the body of the sofas or armhairs. These stud bolts  are embedded to a nut-holed profile which is called arm profile.

In this thesis, CODESYS based arm profile automation system design is realized by using Yaskawa MP2310iec motion controller. In the automation system designed drilling on profile, adding nuts and nut welding operations heve been carried out.
