Abstract:
It is important to analyze the process that leads to terorizm to understand the structure and to develop the strategies to fight against terorist organizations. Terorizm may develop out of political, social and religous beliesf and values to legalize the violence commited. Contemporary society witnessed certain attacks and violences committed by terrorist groups who use Quranic message to justify the ideology and violence they commited. ISIS and El-Kaide are the two radical terorist organizations of the contemporary world using Islamic values and committing violence in the Middle East, Europe and America. ISIS and El-Kaide are originated from Harici movement and contaminated by Vahhabi-Selefi sects of Islam. They use religion and Islamic texts to develop particular point of view to interpret the Quranic verses in order to convince, deceive and justify the strategies they use. İs an important motive to attract the new members of the terorist groups. ISIS attracts the new memebers and motivated the fighters using Islam to empover their ideology. The powerful, defensive but also rebellious leaders play an important role to fight for and justify the so-called divine ideals. Violence, murders and war are used to achieve the so-called divine goals. Such strategies lead to disintegration, conflict and even war in Muslim and non-muslim society. The present thesis deals with ISIS which accepts fundemantalist view of Islam and re-interprets the Islamic texts from an orthodox point of view to justify the violence. This study also analyzes the strategies of the ISIS and explain the organizational methods developed to attract the new members. The study also emphasizes that strategies such as radicalization and attracting new members via religous references of primary significance to understand and analyze the organizational structure of ISIS.
